Travel Grants
11 – 13 SEPTEMBER 2023 | HILTON HOTEL, SANDTON, SOUTH AFRICA
Objective
The primary goal of the travel grant is to assist participants who do not have available funding from other sources and who are actively involved in research, to attend and participate in the ANISE 2023 Meeting.
Application Criteria
Scientists, and researchers from low- and middle-income countries, who are working in the field are eligible to apply. Only participants who have an abstract accepted will be considered.
Selection will be made applying one or more of the following criteria:
- Applicant must be from an African country
- Applicant must have first authorship of a submitted abstract that is included in the official ANISE 2023 conference programme
- Awarding of travel grants will be based on merit including quality of the submitted abstract and relevance to the conference themes. Preference will be given to oral abstracts.
- Motivation for the financial assistance application
- A subset of travel grants will be set aside for students and early career researchers.
Definitions
- Registered students: Honours, masters or PhD students
- Early Career Researchers and newly qualified professionals (including laboratory technicians and technologists): Within 10 years of relevant degree.
Travel grants will cover economy class travel to the meeting and accommodation for the duration of the meeting.
Application Guidelines
Applications must be submitted ONLINE through the abstract portal or link provided.
The application deadline is Wednesday, 7 June 2023 and NO LATE APPLICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Applicants will be required to upload the following document:
Short (max. 200 words) motivation for the financial assistance application, including a summary of current research, financial need and how attending ANISE 2030 will benefit the applicant’s future academic career.
